Crystal Lake Official Trailer

Crystal Lake Official Trailer Peacock Original

As lifelong fans of the Friday the 13th franchise, few horror announcements have us more excited than Crystal Lake coming to Peacock. For those of us who grew up watching the legend of Jason Voorhees evolve from campfire cautionary tale to one of horror's most iconic figures, the chance to return to Camp Crystal Lake in a new series feels like a dream come true.

At Zero Dark Nerdy, we've spent countless hours debating our favorite kills, ranking the films, and celebrating the legacy of one of pop culture's most recognizable slashers. Jason isn't just a horror character. He's a symbol of the genre itself. The hockey mask, the machete, and that ominous walk through the woods have left an unforgettable mark on generations of fans.

What makes Crystal Lake especially intriguing is the opportunity to dive deeper into the mythology surrounding Camp Crystal Lake and the Voorhees family. After years of legal battles and uncertainty surrounding the franchise, it's refreshing to see new life breathed into a series that has meant so much to horror fans around the world.

Whether you've been a fan since the original 1980 classic or discovered Jason through later sequels, video games, comics, and collectibles, there's a shared excitement building within the horror community. We can't wait to see how Peacock honors the legacy while introducing a new generation to the terror that lurks at Camp Crystal Lake.

Until then, we'll be rewatching the movies, dusting off our Jason collectibles, and counting down the days until we can once again hear the sounds of the forest and wonder what might be waiting just beyond the trees.

Welcome back to Crystal Lake. We've been waiting for you.

ABOUT THE SERIES

A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before.
